What do you think is the best batting to use in the quilts. Cotton or polyester? I always feel like the polyester is warmer. I seem to feel cold under my cotton quilts. I got my quilt kit today!!!!

As long as it is 1/4" thick or less and will withstand alot of washings and a hot dryer use what you like. Those commercial machines in the hospitals aren't gentle :D:D:D

I use Warm & Natural in mine. Then again, that's what I use in all my quilts. FWIW, since I'm not a MQ'er normally I simply do straight line diagonal quilting about every 3" apart on my QFK quilts and when I dropped the first one off to them since they are not far from me, they were thrilled with the quilt and considered that amount of quilting to be 'heavily' quilted in their opinion.

I've been putting polyester batting in mine. Wish I had a place close to drop them off. I mail mine in and postage gets a little costly at times. I have 4 sitting - waiting on quilting and binding. Really need to get busy on them.

you can go to a Mason's lodge if you don't have a Shirner's lodge near and drop them off there asking them to deliver to local Shrine- they ahve drivers that go up to the ospitals on a regular basis

Oops ... I forgot to add that you can use polyester or cotton batting (whichever you are more comfortable using) as long as it is a low-loft batting.
