Quilts for Kids
I sent a request for a kit a few weeks ago and I just got an email saying the kit has shipped. I am excited to do it. Anyone ever did one before?

Yes, it was easy and fun and gave me a feeling of accomplishment!

Yes, I did one and added three from my own stash using the same easy pattern. Shipping the 4 quilts from S.Cal cost me $10.

Done a number of their kits - quick, easy, fun. Fortunately for me their HQ are pretty local so I can drop them off so no cost for shipping. My LQS also holds a monthly workshop for them. I've not yet managed to work that into my schedule but I imagine they with the to/from so no shipping there either. And I just heard from a friend recently that while her baby granddaughter was hospitalized for either heart or stomach (I forget which) surgery, she received a QFK quilt. She is a fellow quilter and was obviously very touched by the quilt. There's soe QFK quilts in her future now as well.

Yes! Mine is in my avatar, along with another two I made from stash and sent with it.

Thanks ladies. I am excited to do it. Our daughter was in the nicu for 2 months and when we left we got a mini blanket that a local group made. I still have it and our daughter is 4.

I haven't tried a "kit" for kids quilt, I have worked with the Project Linus ladies and will be broadcasting a special "TV program about them in a couple of months.
Giving and helping children by making quilts is so satisfying. |
been participating in their program for a couple years now- about every 3-6 months i request another kit- but in the mean-time i make 2-4 out of my stash every month.
|
Several dozen. I have 9 finished ready to be handed off on Tuesday, 4 more tops done and 6 more "kits" all cut from my stash. I make kits for a friend to sew and we both make them.

Our guild does them so I have done them. I now do them for our loacal nic-u I would rather do them for our local hospital...
