I can't see the link because I have no facebook account. Were these quilts on display? Appaling behavior - rotten thieves.

I'll keep my eyes open in flea markets, etc, but highly unlikely anyone would actually try to sell such lovely things.

Personally, I EXPECT to see displays with security items on them, and the monofilament thread sewed onto a big backing makes sense. And security cameras, why not use them? They are tiny and most can't see them, or if they are seen, so what? Those of us who don't steal for a living or for whatever reason, don't mind having them around. I would expect this store to start having such things now.

What about posting pictures of these quilts IN THE STORE and giving an award for their return? Were they marked by the maker? Or had the store's name on them? Could they be legally sworn to in court? I know I could instantly identify any I've ever made, and even still have the same fabrics left that went into them, plus pictures. And pictures of those quilts in process of being made, after taken apart, and after finishing. I think that sort of identification would stand up in court.

And the store DOES intend to follow up on this legally, doesn't it?

It sure took some nerve to walk out with stolen quilts! The person who did it is feeling proud they got away with it not one bit of guilt at all. People like this never think of the sadness of the one they stole from and only feel regret that they get caught if they ever do. I don't blame shop owners for any type of security they use. I really believe the are more low lifes then honest lifes in this world.

It is so sad that someone has to go stealing someone elses quilts. I hope that they find them who ever they are. Seems like all stores need to put up some good security these days. I stopped someone who was shop lifting in a store. I got a bit bumped up but took them down. I use to be a security guard and learned how to take a person down.

It's so sad that a Quilt Store may have to install video cameras in the future to watch their customers. 711 yes, but a quilt store...sheesh.

What is wrong with some people? If I liked a quilt that much, I would ask the LQS if I could buy it. I certainly wouldn't steal it.

That is a shame. I don't know how you can live with yourself taking things that don't belong to you.
