in r form/soft and stable

Has anyone used these 2 products? Are they similar ? Do you prefer one or the other ? I haven't tried either but am thinking either might work well to make a cover for my new nook that I got for Christmas .

I've not heard of ( in r form) but have used soft & stable in a couple totes & baskets. It was nice to work with.

A friend of mine just used scraps of W&N for the cover of her new tablet.

The In-R-Foam is fusible on both sides I think; the Soft and Stable is not fusible. If you have creases/wrinkles in the Soft and Stable, it can be pressed. I don't know how you'd deal with pressing the In-R-Foam if you only had fabric on one side. Soft and Stable does not have to be quilted unless you want to. I'm not sure about the In-R-Foam in regards to quilting requirements. Either could be used to make your own double sided quilt fabric.

I just ordered some Soft and Stable, but haven't used it yet. For my use, I am making a tote with separate lining and laptop sleeve inside.

When I purchased the Soft and Stable, I noticed the prices varied greatly, and shipping could get high, it's a large package. I got it on ebay with free shipping for under $12 for 18x58 piece.

When I made my tablet cover I used leftover headliner fabric made it nice and cushioned, besides that headliner is great for use by itself or covered with other fabric.

I love Soft n Stable. You can sew through it easily and it really holds a shape.you do not have to quilt it. I love it for small bags. I used it on my Bionic gear bag as well as my Sew Together bag.they were not quilted but they look smooth.

Jenny Doan and the little gal from Crafty Gemini used it in a video for a tote. It's actually 2 parts video. Seems to be really sturdy.

After watching Jenny Doan's video, I tried to order some I R Form from MSQC; but they were out. I have never used it; but I have made about 60 tote bags with Soft and Stable. I love, love, love that product.
