R Ryder! How are you doing????

Just wondering how your healing is coming along????

A very large vet bill for my horse, brought it to mind. (He's fine. )

Hi Watson!
So sorry to hear about your vet bill, but glad that your horse is ok. I'm still doing physical therapy twice a week. I see the Orthopedic surgeon on Wed. to determine whether I will continue to be eligible to have my insurance pay for PT. There is some talk that I will instead be moved into something called post rehab- not sure I've got the name right, but it is a step removed from PT that may allow me to continue using the PT gym and seeing my PT with some insurance coverage. Fingers crossed. Basically, I'm doing very well. I am walking without any aids including stair climbing etc. My stamina isn't what is used to be so that's slowed my quilting way down and I still occasionally get some pain and my leg muscles where they attach to the pelvic ring sometimes get very tight- but I'm told this is all normal with these types of injuries. Haven't yet tried riding as my Dr. hasn't released me to do so, but I think that may be a possible outcome of Wed.'s appointment. Never thought I'd say it, but I'm a bit trepidatious about riding again- strange since I've been falling off horses all my life. I'll chalk it up to being a senior citizen and coming to terms with the fact that I just don't bounce as well as I used to LOL!

Thanks for asking,
Rob

Glad to hear you're doing well.
I haven't ridden hardly at all in the last 3 years due to my back and when I do think I can get on for a little walk-about, I do feel a little nervous. We don't bounce like we used to.

Be careful Rob. There are more important things later in life than riding... like walking! And not being in constant pain. I can't tell you all the ways my horses have injured me (but nothing as catastrophic as your pelvis break). I once almost lost two fingers in a loading accident with a skittish, fearful big brute of a horse. Big Red. We don't keep any horses now, but I do love them.

Glad to hear of your improvement!

So good to hear your progressing well, Rob. I'll continue the prayers for your healing and recovery.
