When you make a rag quilt out of flannel.............When you sew the X through each block do you back stitch at the corners? Do you stitch all the way to the end of the square or in as far as you are going to rag it?

I did mine up to 1/2 inch from the fabric edge because I used a 1/2 seam for ragging. Yes, backstitch it.

I stitched all the way across the block and did not backstitch. I just kept feeding them into my machine one direction, then cut apart and feed the other direction. It would have taken forever to backstitch. Since I go all the way to the edge, the seam is sewn over when the blocks are joined.

I just sew edge to edge and don't backstitch . Everyone does them different so what ever works best for you

When I would backstitch the corners would kinda curp up a little bit. I quit backstitching. Hopefully it will hold.
