The last few I made were queen size. I used the Go rag die. I can't tell any difference in weight from a regular quilt using cotton fabric and batting.

Yes, I made one for each of my granddaughters beds. I don't think they are hugely heavier than a "normal" quilt of the same size, just take longer to dry after washing.

My sister who passed away last year always made KING sized ones. I think her blocks were 12 inch.

I have made a couple that were queen size.

I guess I am wondering why the question. Do you have a question about size? Weight? How-to?

Yes I made twin sized for each of my 3 grandchildren and my sister made a king sized one for her son.

I made a king size. Homespun on one side, flannel back and flannel for the batting. It is not heavy. Laundromat for 1st wash and dry. I used varied sized pieces....squares and rectangles with the biggest square being 12". Practiced my FMQ in each square before I pieced them. Gotta' admit, some of the FMQ is pretty bad but no one notices....lol
