I know i've seen some info- rag quilts- on here but now I can't find it. think you sew right side of fabric and then wash it but do you put batting in the squares? I'am sure someone out there on QB knows . Thanks in advance.

Go to search on top... type in rag quilts and there will be a list of topics.

You can put batting if you want it to be warmer. Here in So. Calif. we don't need that extra warmth. Two layers of flannel seems to be plenty. I love rag quilts. So quick and easy and very snuggly to crawl under for a nice nap. lol

2 layers of flannel for a light quilt
3 layers of flannel for a warmer quilt
2 layers and batting for a very war quilt :D:D:D

Some quilt an X or a design on the blocks before sewing them together, other's don't. I think if I was using batting I would probably quilt them :D:D:D

I put warm and natural batting in my rag quilts.
