I have a Janome 1600p on a grace frame that I use only for quilting.

I have the 1500 I bought for the 9" throat and a PC420 for the extra stitches. The 1500 gets used more for piecing because of where it is in the room then we just change the thread to quilt. At times when I have more than one piece I am working on or someone else is here we do use both.
I also have some older machines '70 and 80's models I also let the GK's use.

I have a brother 1500 and love it for quilting, I also use it for piecing if I have a friend over so she doesn't need to bring a machine. It has a wonderful stitch - it is only a straight stitch machine but most of the time what else do you need. If you are serious about the 1500 search the internet for deals - there are some of the older model (new) that haven't been sold yet and you may be able to get a good deal

I have the PQ1500 and love it. I bought it to use with the PCQuilter but I have used it to piece and it is great.

I love the 1963 New Home for quilting. The Singer 201 does a wonderful job of quilting, no skipped stitches, even feed, no special foot needed. All the old ones, treadles included, quilt wonderfully. Mostly I piece on the 201, even though she doesn't sing like the 1941 15.

I got the Brother PQ1500 just for quilting and now use it for everything except applique. I love it.

I have the Pfaff Hobby Quilter and a small frame (don't know what it is called), the Pfaff works great for me. I have a Viking for piece work.

I have a Juki to quilt with which is fine as I have a speed control to use when I am quilting ,BUT as for sewing with it it is way to fast for me, I piece on my Janome 6500 which is a real work horse, I also have a baby pfaff that I use when going to classes

I guess my hand is half way up. I have a featherweight that I use strictly for piecing. My Bernina is usually set up for FMS; but sometimes I use it for machine appliqué or put the walking foot on it for quilting or attaching binding.
