Raw edge applique circles?

How do you make a perfect circle when doing raw edge applique? My cirlces look a little wonky. They are about the size of a dime and penny. Any suggestions?

Olfa circle cutter!

starch the fabric heavily before cutting to prevent the circles from stretching on the bias

I'd use Wonder Under and fuse them to the quilt, then stitch over them. They won't move or get wonky.

I wish I could help, I'm having similar issues getting my small curved edges to look nice and smooth. I can say that the more I do, the better they get - so I'm guessing the answer is "practice".

I use my thimble as a template. Works for me.

I would agree, starch and lite heat and bond....I recently made a quilt with fish and had to add bubbles.... when I appliqued them I really had to shorten my stitch and take my time, sometimes turning every stitch to make a perfect circle......but it can be done.....just not quickly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:thumbup:

I do the same thing, heat n bond lite and stitch around the edges.
