Yes, DottyD, the 6 1/2 inch square HST ruler is the only size I use even though I bought the 3 pack. I just like having more room for my hand to hold down the ruler as I cut.

Thanks everyone - went to a quilt show in Malvern UK last Saturday and found a lady selling them - so I got the 6.5 " one. She said exactly what you commented on AngelinaMarie about putting your whole hand on the ruler to support it. Pleased with my purchase !! --- and a wonderful show - VERY hot -- for the UK lol !!

Anyone know where i can get a block lock ruler in the UK please?

Hi Hels,
I bought mine with a Dutch (I think) lady at Malvern last year (and she was there again a couple of weeks ago ) but I seem to be having trouble to answer your question. But - I have just found this and it seems there are two UK shops that stock them - but you may need to contact them as not on their websites ( so the message says ) here is the link to that message.

I have looked up both shops that are mentioned and they don't list them - but here are their details.
Patchwork Cabin in Gt Bookham Surrey 01372 459908.
Patchwork Corner in Hemel Hempstead 01442 259000.

Good luck, hope you can source them. I love mine and I can let you have the details of the lady I bought mine from if you have no success.

WOW, they are a little pricey. I wonder why??

I have one...somewhere. But I much prefer the June Taylor Perfect Half-Square & Quarter-Square Triangles. Not only is it less expensive, but I find it easier to use.

Love mine. I only have the 6" one but it works for anything smaller too.

Also, they are expensive but they're very thick and sturdy too.

I used one at a recent quilting retreat and was sold on it. It was the 6-1/2" and I was trimming 4-1/2" squares. Worked so much better than anything else I've tried. So I have it on my Christmas wish list. I do wish they weren't so expensive. But they do work very well.
