Finished is better than perfect, right?? I fully embrace that philosophy. Otherwise NONE of my quilts wold be finished, because NONE of them are perfect.

I hope you will post pics! I'm sure it's going to turn out great. And it's nice you figured out the issue and a work-around for it.

I would give enough of the parts for one block, to the writer of the pattern, and have them sew it together.....

can you somehow make this a 'liberated' quilt, and saying that it was the look you wanted to achieve? without seeing a photo of your dilemma , that is my suggestion to you ... don't let it get you down

If a quilt makes you want to go crazy, it's time to give it to someone else! that's what I would do or give it to charity and maybe someone else would love to finish it.

oh just forget it. the level of accuracy required to make this thing FAR FAR exceeds my patience.

i thought i had the answer. i did not. i may or may not slap it together, but the 18"ths everywhere are going to be noticeable.

i officially loathe it. with a seething, furious passion.

i wouldn't recommend these projects to ANYONE and pity the fool who waltzes in here to tell me theirs went together like a dream. this is ridiculous.

I don't see why any quilt patterns need to be that hard. Quilting is supposed to be our pleasure, not our torment.

Can you just 'draw and quarter' the thing, slicing and dicing, and then put it back together a different way? You could call it a "Disappearing Frank Lloyd Wright". HA!

I looked at the pattern and no one in their right mind would try this without major amounts of wine, chocolate and a surrogate quilter!

I am amazed at the intricate pieces so many of y'all do and think they are lovely but I know in my heart I am not interested in trying something that detailed. I'd be beyond bonkers just reading the directions and heaven knows I would be completely unbearable to live with.

If you insist on pressing forward, good luck and godspeed to you and your crew. Send a postcard when you're finished. You could make a Frank Lloyd Wright pincushion...here's what his wife did :)

I love this! I am a huge fan of Wright's work, but a "Disappearing Frank" or even a "Stack and Whack Frank" gives me the giggles! :)

I looked at the pattern picture. It sounds like you are making a long strip of the tiny pieces. I don't know how the pattern tells you to line up the tiny pieces, but I would do it in sections, the center white strip with 2 tiny blocks on each side, adding the thin black strips to each section as you go, then sewing the sections together. Don't give up, you can do it!
