I started sewing together a charm pack to make a purse I got the outside all sewn together and started sewing the inside together when all of a sudden the sewing machine started making a horrible banging noise and the back of the fabric where the stitches go looked almost like a big old eyebrow. I tried rethreading it tried the tension and nothing seems to be working. There are a few stitches on the front of the fabric and a big eye brow looking thing on the back again. Please do any of you know what the banging and the eyebrow stitches could be caused by and how to fix it?

Is your bobbin in correctly?

I think so I took it out and put it back in maybe I should look at my instruction book. Sorry I'm new to this and don't know how to fix things when they go wrong.

go with all the basics : New needle- rethread top of the machine- clean bobbin area - new bobbin in  Sometimes a small piece of thread will cause the most havoc

Rethread. I thought I had mine right (I had rethreaded three times) and than realized I had made a mistake. I was on the wrong side of a tension disc. Sigh, My machine did get a great cleaning out of the deal though.

I have the same trouble if I put the bobbin in upside down. Good Luck!

might check your needle and try rethreading everything again.

I had the same thing happen today! Turned out to be a little tiny piece of thread under the bobbin...

It's just a little sewing machine gremlin that wanted to mess with you.

Glad you're back to sewing after all that.
