It's impossible to judge whether it's a fair price without knowing who the instructors are, their qualifications, what they will be covering in the workshops, and what else is covered by that fee (meals, refreshments, printed materials, etc). It's like asking if $500 is a fair price for a horse without telling us if it's a race horse or a plow horse. :)

Yea, that's a lot of money when you look at the total. I couldn't afford it.
BUT that's only $31± a day per instructor. If they're hired that doesn't seem too bad. I still couldn't afford it. |

Seems high to me. Last one I went to was $150 and everything was provided.

It seems kind of expensive to me. I get newsletters from a ton of shops and I'm thinking you gals in Texas have it made. Some of the retreats and shop hops sound very reasonably priced. Maybe it's just wishful thinking since Texas is to far from Michigan. LOL

I don't know anything about the Instructors not much informations was given in the application a request of $100 deposit which is non returnable:( nothing was mention about meals, a couple of suggestion about accommodation for outsiders the venue is at the local club so i guess she would have to pay for the room, she is having 2x2 days Saturday/Sunday OR Monday/Tuesday any way i just thought this was too much for any one to participate specially the pensioners or one income person. Thank you for your input :)

I would and could not spend that kind of money. This is not a reflextion on if it is worth it or not. It is just too much money for me to spend at this point. I joined a free once a week class at a LQS. Everyone brings their own project and works on it. The woman that is the head of that particular class is a wonderful quilter and will help and teach you anything you want. I also do better with small time bites of learning then full submersion trying to absorb new things for days on end.
