I don't either & also throw them away. I will start a collection for those of you who do. I made two quilts (same pattern) using 1" log cabins & swore never again!
QUOTE=slk350;5023402]I must not have a very good imagination...I just throw them away. I don't know if I'ld have the patience to sew all those tiny pieces together. LOL The quilt in the pic is very nice, though.[/QUOTE] |
grammy Dwynn Love this basket....!!!! Have you made many??? Really cool!

I remember someone on the QB used rolls of adding machine paper to sew scraps on and saved this for using on borders?

Or you can save them and cut them up for making a confetti quilt. Cut them up w/ your rotary cutter into tiny pieces, spread over the quilt, cover w/ netting and fmq over the top. The netting pretty much disappears. Landscapes are neat made this way.

I have been using 1/2 inch strips for trivets for the table by wraping them around 1/2 inch rope and zig zaging it together you' be shocked how much waste you will use . I make some round and some oval. Just google rope baskets and make them flat.

The ideas given are so creative! The photos of the quilt and bowl great! Quilters are so imaginative!

Have you ever seen locker hooking? you use thin strips and they are hooked onto rug canvas. there is a special hook that has a eye at the end. When you have 3 or 4 loops on your hook, you pull a cotton string/yarn thru them to keep the hooks from pulling out.
http://www.bzyqltr.blogspot.com/2007...r-hooking.html There is a short tutorial on my blog from 2007. |
