She is adorable......just like my Jake....but when he get done with stuffed animal we have to bury it, lol.....killer instinct..he caught and killed a rabbit that got inside the fenced area.

Our pets let us know when they need help. Now your baby has her toy back again. My little dog had a favorite elephant toy that we named "ellie" and when it got ripped I would take it to the machine and sew it and he would wait patiently by my machine until it was all repaired.

My granddog use to sit on my lap while I mended his doggie toys. It took him, maybe a day to rip them again. Sometimes they just had to that great doggie toy heaven. lol

I don't know. The first thing she does with all of her stuffed animals is chew the eyes out. I think it's because they are hard plastic.

I have one dog that disables the squeakers and another that chews the ears off and their toys. The other 2 just carry them around.

I lmao off reading this ( tawny is adorable)... I have been thinking for weeks about how to make toys for my Copper that would actually be durable(he wants nothing to do with ropes etc - adores his stuffed animals).
I have even bought him the supposedly "indestructible" Kong(sp)brand. Those lasted a full week lmao..And It's almost impossible to find a toy without a friggin squeaker- which is like catnip to him and to many others it seems lol...
I know he wouldn't care if the toy is cute, had eyes or not..As long as its squishy soft..
So I'm thinking a basic ginger bread man pattern might work, maybe made of fleece?, double stitching?...Anyone else have any good ideas?

WILL WORK FOR TOYS..:: placing a paw over the lil ones missing eye::

glenda5253 01-11-2011 01:13 AM

Our little shiba inu loves his toys with the squeaker. He doesn't chew them up but when he is ready for attention gets his squeaker toy and stands at your chair and starts squeaking...the longer you ignore him the faster he squeaks. Sooo cute!!!

Gramof6 01-11-2011 01:18 AM

AWWWW How precious! I also had to sew up stuffed animals for our mini Schnauzer before she passed at 13 yrs old. They are so worth the time we put into these furkids! They really give us back so much! Your furkid is beautiful. And well loved!

No, she isn't allowed to be near my machine when it is on. One time she tried to grab the needle as I was sewing. I can't afford that vet bill!

NannySandy 01-11-2011 03:50 PM

ahhh, how sweet.

bjnicholson 01-11-2011 03:55 PM

Who could ignore eyes like that? Furry people don't even have to talk. They just stare you down. The first think to go in our baby's pets were the squeekers! Even if they were guaranteed not to come out. HA!

Your baby is adorable!

RkayD 01-11-2011 04:08 PM

I tend to do the same thing. I make sqeaky toys that get the squeek chewed out of them in 2.5 seconds. I just pick up the stuffing and put it back in add a new sqeak and wait to do it again. I bought a bag of squeakers somewhere on the net. The funny part was Odie the Pug found my stash one day and hid about 20 of them all over the house. He thought he was something! =)

I turn off my machine when they are near. I can't afford that vet bill either. I sew in front of a window so they want the view and perhaps my company.

My pugs destroy all their stuffed toys, but no machine help here, I stitch them up like a surgeon by hand and they are so happy its like a new toy all over!:)

chrisqlt 01-12-2011 06:09 AM

You "speak" dog very well. Good you can fix the boo boos in your family's lives.

fktsewing 01-12-2011 09:43 AM

when Lucy was a puppy, she used to chew the plastic eyes off--we have 2 Scooby Doo's without eyes and a lot more, but now, I am usually sewing the tails back on because she likes to carry them around in her mouth and the seams too as she loves to play tug of war.

ladybalcom 01-13-2011 03:45 PM

what a heart warming story. loved it.

sik1010 01-15-2011 06:21 AM

Good reason to buy a sewing machine! Delicate surgery--great results!!!

tlpa 01-15-2011 06:31 PM

Oh my, I can't keep him away when I start to sew. He wants my lap, or to check out what my sewing machine is doing, or to get under the fabric in the machine, or lay on top! Mr Inspector Extrordinaire!

jdavis 01-22-2011 04:23 AM

What a cute story!
