LOL, I'm not nearly as visionary as Klue... I'd go w/ tone on tones in white and blue(s). Dull, probably, but soothing?

really Klue yellow and red. How yellow bright or mellow

I love Red so thats easy

I tend to be too matchy matchy and yellow and red would really pop

I like blue and white :D

i would go for a mellow yellow like a tone on tone or a blender.

if you could find a floral or a paisley that had yellow and red in it that would be great.

Thanks for the suggestions when I go to the local shop I will look at those and will let you know what I come up with.

The picture is quite small, but looks like that's an oriental fabric line? I'd find at least one of the blues on a colour wheel and do the complimentary orange/red for one colour...& a deep blue/navy for another...and then a pale ???? that reads white...........

I agree with klue red & yellow then for the stirps white so the colors pop

I'm very glad to hear that you think blue, yellow, and red go well together! That's what I'm planning to use for a baby quilt for my sister's (eventual) baby.

I think I'd go with a red&white print, and a very creamy tone-on-tone yellow to meld the two together.

Who is the quilt for? Male, female? Someone who likes bright & bold colours or someone who has a more mellow personality?

i love red, yellow, and blue together.

i'm working on one right now. the red is a reddish pink. its a self portrait, with NY Beauties in the corners, and the black strip of fabric will be flying geese.

its my center for the international round robin II

Wow, Klue! That is spectacular! When you show an example of the colors together, they look totally different than what I had pictured! I guess I am still thinking crayola colors! :?

kluedesigns 07-22-2009 06:25 PM

thats so funny that you say that because DH always comments that i make color choices like a child, i'm without color inhibitions.

janedennis 07-22-2009 10:04 PM

I just love that red and white.

As to who its for no one yet just used a gift certificate i won from fabshophop. Have bought lots of fabric lately most of it kind of asian and put mostly solids with the prints but wanted this to be kind of eye catching and something i wouldnt normally use. I tend to be a little boring with my colors.

Thanks for everyone suggestions.

How about a burgundy red, tan and offwhite. Have one done with those colors and it's gorgeous.
