Hello quilting angels out there.

I don't know who did it, but I received a sewing machine in the mail today. I am laid up here with a broken leg and can't get to my sewing studio.

I received a small Singer Pixie Plus that can run on batteries as well as plug in. It came equipped with many spools of thread and bobbins already threaded.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Wow, what a nice surprise! So what are you going to make with it?

Do you do any hand piecing or quilting?

You can always look thru quilting books, magazines and surf the web.

Take it easy and get well soon!

That's very nice of someone. Let us know how it works - I'm looking for a small machine for my 8 year old daughter. She has a hard time keeping the thread in the needle.

Quilter 7X - I really like the quilt as your picture. What's the name of the pattern?

Anyone have a favorite site on the internet they use for ordering stencils? I'm looking for a baseball motif - ball, bat, glove - something for a little boy's quilt.

The pattern is called Center Stage put out by Pieced Tree Patterns. It's a little laminated card, around 3 1/2" X 5 1/2" with the pattern picture on one side and the directions on the other side. You can find them online or in your LQS (local quilt shop).

My weimeraner is my quilting buddy! Loves to sit with her head in my lap when I'm at my machine, or at my feet. We just adopted her from Weim Rescue. Somebody spent a lot of time training her!!!

Margie 03-24-2010 08:52 AM

I hope you heal quickly and I hope you and your "angel" are blessed by such a kind act.

Margie
