I know this is an old post but would love more info on the saddle stool you like for you longarm quilting.

I have the saddle stool from Sally's beauty supply. I find it very comfortable. I use it for both sides of the LA. I can move around the entire room on it, from station to station, and never get up if I don't want to. The one con on this one for me is the location of the lever to raise or lower it; it's hard for me to reach. Also with the saddle stool you have to get on( and off) it like you get on a horse. Since it can be lowered to maybe a foot from the floor if you don't want to "saddle up", it can be lowered to get on and off. It is also good for posture.

Harbor Freight sells a few different saddle stools.

And those tall adjustable chairs aren't bar stools, they're drafting stools. And you *can* fall off them. Not too often when sewing, but leaning over the drafting table, engrossed in drawing, leaning, leaning..... Woooo!

Thank you for your responses. Are the ones from Sallys and Harbor freight adjustable to a 30 in height or higher. That seems what I have been finding is what everyone seems to want and also a foot rest.

I'd like to buy a good quilting chair to sit at my long arm. Can anyone recommend a particular brand or type? I would like an ergonomic one with good back support. Thanks, Candita
