recommend LQS between Austin and Dallas

I'll be driving through central Texas on my way to Oklahoma. Does anyone have a favorite fabric store that would make a good stop for me or would be worth a detour?

Sorry I have no answers and I hope you don't mind if I piggy-back on to your thread. One of the gals in the German quilt forum is planning a round-trip through Texas and she is looking for LQSs as well. I told her I would ask here because so many LQSs are closing and the locals could help pointing to the right spots. Thanks.

I've never been to Texas, but I check out the Quilters Travel Companion site before I travel. Here's the one for Texas. It's recommended to call ahead and verify that the shop is still open. Have fun!

The time I visited the one in Georgetown, it seemed to be deserted (but was still there and had no "closed" sign).

Well, there is a good one in Austin on Anderson Lane called the Quilt Store and it is open and kicking. I have noticed that Internet searches are likely to turn up closed businesses so I am hoping some Texas quilters will look in today and let me know what they know.

B & B in Buda, just south of Austin is nice and Common Threads in Waxahachie has lots of repros. Memories by the Yard in San Antonio.

There is one in Saledo, TX right on the freeway. If you are going 35 there is also Quilt Country in Lewisville right on the freeway. You get off at the Fox Avenue exit, go across the bridge and take a right into the shopping center off Fox. Depending on when you come back through there are 2 in Denton, TX.

There are a couple in Waco that I like, but it seems whenever I am in town they are closed. Their normal business hours just don't coincide with my husband's Dr appointments. I would definitely call ahead if I were you no matter what shop/town you decide to visit. There is a great one in Grapevine that is worth getting off the interstate for. I believe they have a web site so you can check them out there. I remember they w ere featured in one of the magazines.
