Recommendations for triangle rulers.
Do you find triAngle rulers helpful when piecing blocks? Any you especially like and why?
thanks |
I like BlocLoc. Expensive, but worth it.

Depends on the angle of the triangle. For 45 degree triangles I just use a square ruler and utilize the 45 degree markings or I cut squares then cut them on the diagonal lining my ruler up with the corners of the square. But for angles like 60 degree (commonly used in spiderweb and OBW) I got the creative grids ruler.

Before I got my Accuquilt, I really like the EZ Quilting Easy Angle ruler for cutting half-square triangles from strips. Here is a link to a video demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSwJJVqGoms

Love my Bloc-Loc!

quilt n a day-Eleanor burns- has good rulers of all kinds.....easy to use, not difficult to see thru- meaning not lots of distracting lines and reasonably prices....

I like Eleanor Burns specialty rulers and Block Loc.

I like creative grids. Easy to read, rough, frosted 1/4" around edge to grip fabric. For a triangle cut, I use an accuquilt die.

I find them expensive and a waste of money (but that's just me- I'd rather spend my $ on fabric). I use a normal quilting ruler - they have the angles marked right on the ruler. The only speciality rulers I have bought are for hexagons and circles.

I love my triangle rulers. I use my Easy Angle the most, and also the Companion Angle, but that mostly is used for FG. I use my Tri Recs, but not as often as the others. I have a drawer full of other odd angle rulers, but don't use them very often.
I do a lot of small scrappy blocks, and the easy angle comes in real handy to make sure my scrap triangles are big enough. I usually sew them up and then trim to size, and the BlockLoc ruler for trimming HST is great. I've been working on the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler (trying to use up batik scraps) and the Easy Angle ruler has been one of the most used - along with the 2.5" block loc HST square. These are 6.5" blocks http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psxt4tzfzf.jpg |
Yep, me too.

I love my Hexanmore ruler. The 60 degree triangle ruler I bought turned out to be 56-62-62. I cut 4 yards of fabric for a one block wonder before I noticed. I was not pleased. Got out the Hexanmore, not a problem since.

I couldn't quilt without my Easy Angle ruler.
