I like the idea. If more weight is needed, maybe Velcro it to a piece of wood. That way it is easier to load and transport.

I can't see how the thread got in there, but it seems the bottle has been cut and fitted back together; the way we do a mosquito trap. |

I have a stand up paper towel holder that I taped a tongue depressor to the "arm" that projects out. Then I taped two unfolded paper clip to make the thread guides. It works awesome, but I don't always take it with me when I travel to sew.

Another idea is a tall olive jar plus a paper clip taped to the end of your sewing machine. Drop thread into jar, bring end of thread through the paper clip "loop" and then thread machine normally. Works like a charm.
