Does anyone here use recycled denim for making quilts? I love to pick up lightweight denim at my resale shop to use in quilts. I stick with the lightweight things like jumpers, skirts, shirts. I've made 5.5 inch blocks to alternate with another fabric. Will have to post some pictures of those projects soon!

I have a small stash of denim. I too haven't actually made a denim quilt yet.

I made one with alternating blocks from men's flannel shirts. Turned out great and is a very warm and sturdy quilt.

I have used denim for a large quilt it is very warm, I made a rag quilt for one of my sons and he loves it. I was easier to make than a normal quilt. the denim from the pants I used was thick so the quilt will last a life time!

I've saved a BUNCH of old denim... but I've got legs and legs and legs cut for use in a heavy denim project (someday). Would LOVE to see what you're doing. I saw one made recently with embroidery on the denim pieces... It was an OSU (Oklahoma State) quilt with black and orange. VERY cute!!

tons of them! i use jeans---everyone i know sends their worn out jeans to me to use in quilts- my youngest brother is a welder- and the denim aprons they wear have pockets on them that he always rips off- and brings me bags of denim pockets too...
denim is wonderful to use in quilts---especially mixed with flannels for wonderful/heavy/warm/snuggly raggy quilts

I've made tons of stuff using recycleed jeans.... They are very heavy.
