I used red and white fabrics in alternating blocks. It's your quilt, you can do whatever you want!

Some Redwork design patterns come with block instructions. Look at the Crabapple Hill site for some ideas. http://www.crabapplehillstudio.com/

I found this upcoming Block of the month - A Patchwork Year - designed by Kathy Schmitz: http://store.quiltingbythebay.com/st...&Item_ID=14780
The blocks that set of the redwork are really cool. Cheers, K |
My cheap embroidery machine only has a 4 in design but it worked for 6 in blocks.
Made a cute blue and white quilt for a baby boy. Did 9 patch for alternate blocks. Got my designs for cute bears from Designs by JUJU. My camera refuses to recognize my computer so no pictures. |
Hey quilt n nan ... That is adorable!
I have set so many one color embroidery quilts and you can design some real original designs if you get creative with a print that has the color of your embroidery plus a companion color. Like red and aqua, or blue and yellow. It frees you up to have more than just a mono-tone quilt. I have posted a few here if you want to search my posts for inspiration maybe? |
