I did my fiskars, a lot...but now have the olfa quick change, and love it!!

Yes, I had that trouble with the cutter I had been using for years. I replaced it, was afraid of having a major accident with-- my fingers!

We use Martelli Ergo cutters. They have reverse threads on the holder bolts, so they continuously keep themselves tight.

Yes, but if I tighten it too much I can't close the blade.

I thought it was because I'm left-handed and have the blade on the other side of the handle. I check it regularly.
