how do you lay it out on the ground....Bottom fabric...then top...then batting on top to and sew around and then flip???

just remember batting on top, so it does not get caught up in the feed dogs and you will be fine!

I like my batting on the bottom so it doesn't get stuck on the sewing foot. I place my backing wrong side down on top of the batting and the top, right side down on top of the backing. This also allows me to pin the edges really well and you can see to sew without any puckers. I leave a opening on the long side for turning. After the quilt batt is trimmed and the quilt turned- corners are all pocked out well- I find the opening and machine stitch the batting to the raw edge of the opening on one side to get prepared for hand stitching the opening closed (scant 1/4 inch). I pin my quilt all over with safety pins to get ready for machine quilting. I machine quilt from the center out and hand stitch my opening closed last. This works well for me. Good Luck!
