I don't remember the brand but it's on a roll about 4" wide, pretty heavy and very adhesive!some of it peels off pretty good but some of it seperates and just the paper peels off , it's like trying to peel a sticker off a picture frame. GGRRRRR. I thought about soaking it in hot water but I used this on towels last year and thought it would wash off, NOT, it's still there. I know for glass you can spray it with WD40 and it will come right off but that will probably stain my fabric. I really don't want to spend hours and hours picking this off. it's a huge applique about 25" X 30" but the problems isn't where the stitching is it's everywhere else.

HAve you tried with steam? Peel it while is still hot.

You can try soaking it in warm water and scrubbing it gently with a nail brush or an old toothbrush while it is still in the water.

Goo Gone?

I don't know how it behaves on fabric, though.

I haven't tried anything yet, just pulling it off. trying to get some ideas for when I get off work, I bought a bottle of something may be goo gone not sure paid like $6, tried it on a sticker on plastic, didn't help a bit. I'll try some of these tips on the piece I practiced my stitches on and see which one gives the best results

I have used Goo Gone on fabric, as long as I can wash it in fairly warm water and soap afterwards. I have used it on cotton and cotton/poly blends without any mishap.

Are you able to buy Eucalyptus Oil in the USA? I keep a bottle of this handy in my laundry ALWAYS.
Why?
It takes glue off anything including fabric
It does not leave a stain
You can de-spot any fabric including vynal, leather, cloth, plastic, glass, stainless steel.
It is wonderful for clearing nose and sinuses when you have a cold.
Last week while spring cleaning I found a bundle of sample fabric. Each has a sticky label that has been stuck on for the past 10years. I decided to use one to make a rice bag. the label left a sticky residue on the fabric. I put two drops of eucalyptus oil on a rag and rubbed it gently over the sticky spot and hand washed the fabric in warm water. Voila! cloth is as good as new.
It comes in a small bottle and may be available at your drug stores.
