I would think oxi clean would bleach your fabric.

I use the Oxi Clean Pre Wash. My son is in wrestling and they have white singlets. Would you believe that the very first time he wore the thing, the other kid got a bloody nose (and I mean a bad one). Sprayed it with this and gone!!!! I would be terrified of using peroxide unless it was white.

I volunteer in a blood bank, where now and then I do get a drop
of blood on my pants. Everyone there uses Basic H, or peroxide.
Wet it throughly with a high absorbent towel or paper towel under
it, and gently pat/scrub at it. This always takes off almost all.
Sometimes I notice at home something I hadn't noticed before,
so put it to soak in COLD water. Never hot.
A touch of meat tenderizer in the water might help.

I just ruined a quilt bc of a blood stain. I tried oxy clean, shout, perxiode, color safe bleach. It took the color our of the blue border on both sides. It was not a very old stain either. Blood stain still there. I think I'm going to replace that part of the border. I'm pretty sure I have more of the fabric. Oh and it was not cheap fabric. The quilt is mainly feed sacks, but I used reproduction fabric on the borders. I think the blood is from DH. Sometimes he shaves just before coming to bed and he must have small nicks he doesn't see.

My husband is a bleeder. I put blankets, clothing, whatever is saturated in blood in the washer with a lot of ice cubes and wash it on cold water cycle ... the blood comes out!

He has bled profusely - several times - on the carpet. I wrap ice cubes in a wet old towel and scrub the carpet with it ... the blood comes out!

We often soak small items that have blood on them in cold water with ice in it.

If I have a small spot of blood on fabric, I rub it with an ice cube or several cubes ... the blood comes out -- totally!

It is handy if you have at least one refrigerator that has a working ice maker.

I had the opportunity to try the Peroxide trick. It worked but it also was a small fresh stain.

I have used the spitting method when the blood is fresh. If you do it immediately, the blood just breaks up in front of your eyes. It's pretty cool.

If you don't notice it until later, I soak in cold water and always had it come out. I love hte ice cube idea though - I'll be using it in the future.

Thanks for the tips, the hydrogen peroxide worked well! I had visions of ripping the quilt apart. What a wonderful resource you all are.

I've tried this and it works. Take some extra thread, put it in your mouth and get it wet. Put the little ball of wet thread on the stain, and work it around. You may have to do it for a little while. I do know it only works on your blood, so it must have something to do with the way your chemistry works.
