Removing heavy pencil marks from quilt
How do I remove pencil marking that were used to create a design? Please help. Just had my Christmas quilt done and now I have to deal with this!

What type/brand of pencil? Fabric-type or "normal writing" type?

I have not found a way to remove lead pencil marks from light fabric.
|
I've never been able to, unfortunately.

It may take awhile but I have had success with Dawn dishwashing soap and a soft toothbrush.

This sounds like it would work. Haven't tried it.

At the very least, I would call the quilter and ask about removing the lines. Is it possible that the quilter used a Frixon pen and cold air brought the lines back? If that is the case, throwing it in a warm dryer 'should' remove the lines. But knowing what implement the quilter used would certainly help finding a solution.
I would also express my disappointment to the quilter. If the person is a professional, the lines would have been removed before your quilt was returned to you. |
I have used TECH on a variety of stains & spots. I have even used it a 2nd time after drying & most often it works.

Oxyclean may do it. I was able to remove a dark pink pencil mark I thought was a dress making pencil. I threw it away so I couldn't use it again.
