has anyone used the gadget that re-smooths the lines left in your cutting board? Hate to buy things that just does not work, and I don't pass those onto other people either.,as in donations, yard sales ,etc.

I use one and it does work. Helps pull out the stray pieces that get caught in the lines also.

It won't work on deep cuts though.

Someone on the board uses one of those shower poofs with good results.

Hope this helps.

I have one and it works, but I usually just use the shower puff, it's cheaper(travel size @ WalMart <$). I have mine hanging beside the cutting mat and the mat cleaner has to be stored out of direct sunlight(I live in FL.) and I forget about it. Neither takes care of the deep cuts!

I use a real honing round stone (smoothing side) on my old beat up cutting mats. It works great.

I have a special cutting mat that has one of the healing plastic things. It does work great with thet board. Never used it on the other boards and I use a waded up piece of nettin to cleal the green boards.
