I've started hoarding, yes hoarding old clothes. I'm seeing too many things to do with them. A crazy is in my future and I to have to save as much as possible for this. I save buttons, also. :shock:

I would go thru and sort out the items you think can be used for a quilt. Donate the rest. Then deconstruct the ones you keep. I don't use collars, cuffs, or button plackets, so I usually give them away. Then just keep the large flat pieces. This will reduce the bulk by about half and make the move easier.

If you're thinking crazy quilt keep the fancies (silks, beaded fabrics, embroidery, etc.) donate the cotton. Even retired you will be buying cotton clothing!
