Jean, Love the blocks. It may be that the multi-color border print fabric takes away from the dogs and pinwheel blocks. Perhaps it could be more muted? When I'm selecting, I have to ask myself if it looks like a baby quilt, then I go back thru the fabrics to select again. Just an opinion.

it's fantastic!
i tend to agree about the sashinga little. make it as wide as half of one of those mini pinwheels if you want to. so cute! aileen |
Lovely quilt! I also would make the sashing thinner, like the black color but at that width they over-power your other detailed work. I would want the blocks to be the focus and the sashing to quietly complement them.

actually they all look nice. I think you did a great job, so finish it and enjoy!

I love your quilt, but I agree with Jeanne S about the sashing. It seems a little wide to me. When I look at the quilt, I see the black sashing and the corner blocks of the border before I see the blocks, and the blocks should be noticed. JMHO.

Very nice! I would suggest narrower sashing and border, or a double border-half that width in the print and half using beige.

I love it! The only suggestion I have -- and it's just a suggestion -- is that you make all four of the outer corner pinwheel blocks the same color. I'm lovin' the purple. The border fabric is so busy, I think less color in the corners would be more effective.
You did great, and you have a good eye for color and scale! |
Great job...I really like it!!! Colors go very well together.

It looks great to me.

I like the colors and the border print fabric. What got my attention were the big pinwheel blocks on the outer corners - they seemed overly large to me.
How about small squares at the corners of the saxhing strips so the frame around the center looks complete. I hink I would just put solid color blocks at the corners - or use thdprint all the way arounf. You could use the large pinwhels on the back. Just my opinion. |
