Not required...but I couldn't imagine my life without them...they are family. :-D

Both. They will keep you company while you are working.

Maybe that's my problem!! I don't have a dog or cat, but I'm owned by a very possessive cockatoo... He makes my scraps disappear & sometimes even the good parts too. LOL!

I have 3 dogs. they absolutely don't pay attention to me while I'm quilting, BUT-- they always inspect the finished product!!

Yup, works for me lol :D

Nothing is quite finished until the cat says so.
