I want to make a Star of the East block. The only pattern I found was on www.quilterscache.com, but it is 6" and I need 12". Can I just photocopy it at 200% without screwing anything up? Maybe a dumb question. Thanks

I always wondered that myself. . . . . .

Here is a chart for reducing/enlarging patterns:
http://www.thequiltedsnail.com/scale.html For your blocks, yes, just enlarge on a photcopier by 200%. As long as when you measure the block on the paper it measure 12.5, you are good to go for PP. |
Candi, thanks for helping!!

Great chart, thanks for this!

Paper pieced are the easiest to enlarge or reduce ( becuase there are no seam allwances in the pattern only at the perimeter of a unit, which you can easeliey alter). Just reduce and enlarge as you like on any copier. I do it all the time to get the size I want , I have taken some to Kinko's to get 42- 48 inch size sheets of a block.

Thank you. It helps to get a math lesson when you reach my age. I am ONLY 27 and holding. (for decades!);-)
