There are about 5 of us in our Tuesday night sewing class and 3 of us in my Thursday one. At lunch today 2 of us used the time to run get batting while on sale. Was surprised it's jumped from $9.99 yard to $11.99. I checked Joann.com for batting on the roll prices but wondered if anyone knows if there is a product similar to warm and natural or anoter supplier that we could chip in and buy in bulk before we order from Joanns?

I wish I did but warm & natural is very expensive. Sorry :(

Yeah comes to $7 yard online at Joann's with the 40% off coupon so if nothing else we'll go that route.

I like Warm and Natural but also like Hobbs 80/20 and Mountain Mist White Rose or Cream Rose ( these are 100 percent cotton).
If you like a flat quilt and preshrink your battings Warm and Natural is a great choice ( if you are ploy adverse) . Hobbs 80/20 I think has more fibers per square inch than Warm and Natural ( same size battings from both companies and the Hobbs weighs more) . The Mountain mist White or Cream Rose drapes the best of all of them it is 100 percent cotton as apposed to Warm and Natural that has a poly scrim. I recently used some and was very impressed it is so.. soft and quilts wonderfully. If you like a big tolerance ( lots of distance between quilting) for quilting Warm and Natural has the largest at recommended 10 inches. You may want to take a look http://www.batt-mart.com/site/490194/page/96250 |
i've purchased from batt mart in the past and was happy with the service

I make a lot of bow tuck bags and use the fusible Pellon 987F. I have found the cheapest way to get this is on O.co. or overstock.com. I buy this by the bolt. You may have luck on there.
Good luck to you. |
The prices of everything have gone WAY up. Batting is not exception. My favorite is Thermore.

Have you tried Amazon.com?

If you are going to share the cost! I use the 50 % coupon at Joann's and then get the free shipping! Less tha $200.00 last time I bought. It is 40 yards and folded so I have to cut everytime I need some! I get the 120/90 inch (again it is folded in half) And it seems to last a good long while! Of course, I am doing QOV and they bring me batting so I am not using my own for that!

Marshalldrygoods.com has good prices on fabrics and batting. But they charge shipping costs..so might be cheaper to stock up with the coupons from Joann's or if you have a Hancocks or Hobby Lobby near you. crafty_linda_b
