Retreat Withdrawal anyone?

Just returned from retreat at the Compass Center in Mt Calm, Texas. It was such a joyful time just sewing and talking with old friends and some new ones. Sewed up a storm, started a new project and was gung-ho for it. Fabulous meals cooked by someone else and cleaned up by someone else. Now, I am home and my project doesn't feel as wonderful, my cooking desire is non existent, and cleaning up the mess that DH made while I was gone does not appeal to me. This has never happened to me before. I feel as if I am going through what someone would call withdrawal. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Should I just take a nap and see how I feel tomorrow?

I go on a yearly retreat, and feel the same way when I get home. It is so wonderful to go away and just sew, eat, and visit for 3 days. The only answer I have for quilt retreat withdrawal is to go on more of them each year. Last year I went on two, it helped a little. LOL

Yes, a nap to recharge your battery sounds like just the thing. I always feel the same way after coming home from vacation. I look at all the work to do and just don't feel like it. I like someone's QB signature line that reads....A woman's work is never one, so why start?

I go to two retreats a year. I have a wonderful time. I'm lucky the retreat is about 20 mins from my house so I can come home if I forgot something. Our retreats are three nights and four days long. We sew all day and late into the night. Some get up at dawn, some go to sleep at dawn. LOL
I can't imagine my DH leaving a mess for me to clean up. I would be very sad if he was that disrespectful to me and our home.

I go four times a year and feel fortunate that none of them are close to home. Of course I feel "let down" when it's over, so I rest for a couple of days and start planning for the next one. Quilt life is good!

Always feel that way. You will return to "normal soon".

I know exactly how you feel. I love quilt retreats. It is so hard to come home and go back to work when all you want to do is quilt.
