Has anyone used this book as a guide to QAYG? I am interested in trying this method but I'd like a guide other than going to the net or to Youtube. Or is there another book I could use? I'm fairly new to quilting and I'm finding that my quilts are just too darn bulky to sew on my little machine.

I have'nt used it, but would love to learn this too.

I have her book and used this method for a baby quilt. Fun to learn something new & great for getting it quilted at the same time as putting it together. Here's the front & back of it.

It is beautiful! Love the bright colors..Maybe i can do one like that, and use I-spy squares in the center!

Very pretty and bright colors. I have the cotton theory quilt book and DVD, haven't made one yet.

I have used her method on several different quilts. Once you get the technique down, you'll find you can use it on several quilts. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.

The other excellent QAYG (quilt as you go) book is Awash With Color by Judy Turner.
Both are good books, and worth the price. The methods vary a bit (I prefer Judy's ), but both give excellent tips and quilt samples. It's a fabulous technique to have in your toolbox. And once you understand it, you can get really creative. This is a quilt my bee made for one of the member's firstborn son. Each member made a nautical themed block, and quilted it with B&W backing. I put them together for John's quilt. It's a great method for doing group quilts as no one has to be "stuck" doing the quilting - not our favorite thing to do. We also did one with houses/schools for another member - again, it was really easy to put together. Do you have to put these squares together by hand? Or put on the sashing by hand? I would like to try this too.
