And, boy, if you ever get a chance to take a class or listen to a lecture from either of them, grab it. We had a three hour lecture from Ricky on machine quilting, and then we had an evening listening to him play the piano and talk about his life. We had an afternoon lecture from Alex on choosing how to quilt your quilt. What a day that was. They are both so entertaining and knowledgeable, it was a thrill to be able to be there. Ricky had everyone in stitches (pun intended) and still was able to give us so much information that would be useful in our quilting. I'm sure we'll be hearing from others who were in Sisters about their experiences.

Sounds like great lectures :D:D:D I will have to remember that if I ever get to a show and they are there.

I think I need a nap. I read that two times and both times it said, "Ricky Timms and Alex Anderson were sisters in Oregon." Third time's the charm.

Sounds great, I'd love to see them.

Well, last night at the Picnic in the Park, Alex was the speaker and she had Ricky on stage with her. She was talking about when they were approached to do the new magazine "The Quilt Life" and they were both worried they had too much to do already. She then said that at 4 in the morning she had a talk with herself and told herself that they may never get a chance to do something like this again, so she needed to put on her "big girl panties" and do it. So, she said, she "put on her big girl panties and Ricky put on his big girl panties" and went for it. Everybody just howled and then there was a long discussion of what type underwear Ricky wore. He said for a dollar apiece he would tell each person. Alex said she knew and she'd do it for 50 cents. It was hilarious.

They sound hilarious. I took a workshop recently with Carol Doak and she spent the night with us at Threads and Beds(the retreat center at Threads of Time in Danville, Il.) She, too, was hilarious. She told us about being in England giving seminars and she asked each person whether or not they'd ever paper pieced before. If someone said they hadn't she said, "Oh, you're a virgin." Once class got started one of the women said that she thought that if they had done something smaller it would have been easier. Carol responded by blurting out, "No, when you're a virgin bigger is better." Then she promptly turned beet red as they all laughed at her. She said that when she got to the next stop on her tour her blooper had preceeded her and just as she got started everyone said, "We know, we already heard, when you're a virgin bigger is better."
