Reminds me too how confusing this language can be to new quilters, as well as board messages when people use so many acronyms for what they really want to say. I can't tell you how long it took me to figure out that ISO was "in search of." Happy to know that I am now enlightened. I've been wondering for quite a while but embarassed to ask. Now I think of what I usually tell others. "you'll never know the answer if you don't ask the question." LOL |
I had a similar funny when I started quilting. I was trying to study a pattern I bought for my first quilt. It said I needed to make "half square triangles". I could not figure out how to cut a 1/2 square (a rectangle) and make it a triangle. Duh!

Thanks for the chuckle. It reminded me of the first time I used a machine - long long time ago. My mom laughed so hard when I was sitting there yelling STOP! STOP! at the top of my lungs with arms waving wildly overhead. At the same time, I was pedal to the metal on the machine and whatever I was trying to sew was running under the needle without any help. lol (Pheeeew, we've both come a long way, huh?)

Yes it gave me a good chuckle. Thanks for brighten up my day. It is cold and dreary here today.

I too have difficulty, if it is a solid, I never know what is the front and the back, I quit trying I just do one, hopefully it is correct if not, who cares. Is there a feel or what to know the back from the front on solids?

That is way too funny. Pretty neat to look back when we started and realize all we have learned.

Thanks for the chuckle, I needed one. My husband said he could understand why you would be puzzled being new to sewing. Glad you stuck with it.
