As I was standing at the checkout at Kroger the lady checking me out , noticed my quilt magazines. She said she has been unable to find the "Rocking Horse Quilt" Pattern. She wanted someone to make her Grandbaby one. Does any one here have one or know where I can find it?
Thanks a bunch! :D

Try this one...

Or..you could find a picture/clipart of one and just copy it and applique it

Catherine 11-29-2008 10:44 AM

I found that one. I have never seen one. I suppose it is any way you do it as long as there are rocking horses on it? Thanks!

What a coicidence, I have just this very afternoon, appliqued a rocking horse block as part of a baby quilt, I struggled to find a pattern, so ended up drawing it!! I used Karla's mini's as inspiration, I haven't taken any pictures yet, but will post one soon :D

Karla aka Barnbum has miniature horses. They are the cutest things you ever did see! Especially Rosie! I'm a bit fond of that little one. :) :)

Karla, it was no particular picture of your mini's, just my general impression of their shape...actually, I probably have insulted your beautiful mini's and in fact its more like me now I come to think of it..short in leg, well rounded at the rear, possibly in foal looking at it's belly and this one has an undershot jaw which I have too lol!!

Anyway, here's a picture so you can judge for yourself lol!!

It's only about 6 x 8" :D

See the undershot jaw...!!

I have quite abit of this baby quilt done now, it has 'evolved' as most of my projects do, I don't think I will ever follow a set pattern tee hee!!

I will post a new topic soon, thanks for your lovely comments, I think it's a bit odd looking tho!!

thanks for sharing! So there really isn't any certain "Rocking Horse" quilt?
You can make it with one big horse or bunches of little ones? No wonder she was having a hard time finding THE pattern. I got one small RHorse...really needed a bigger one...I'll jut have to see if I can enlarge it.
(Thanks for your help. I use to draw all the time..I was much better with people than animals...never could get the portions right. :) )
Just let me know if any of you come up with any more ideas or patterns.

Hi , go to : http://www.amishcountrylanes.com/IEv...Applique1&aol. Scroll down to baby and crib quilts . There is a picture of one someone has made [ for sale ] . It will give you an idea about how to do one . I thought maybe coloringbook pages might be helpful . A picture of a horse and add arc on bottom . Annie
