this gentleman has been resharpening rotary blades for many years. His ad was in the very first quilt magazine I ever bought. I think it was the 5th issue of Quilter's Newsletter.

I've heard all good about him On the other hand if I put in a brand new blade and clip the ruler, I no longer have a good blade.

My problem is usually that the blade is nicked, rather than dull. I tried the electric one, didn't get good results, and sent it back.

I just buy fisker blades at walmart, 5 pack blades is 3.60 per blade. I use lots of them.

I have found I can use them a lot cutting single layer of fabric using my June Taylor strip cutter. I have been cutting lots and lots of scraps.

Did you try a 60mm cutter? This size works better for me. The blades cost a little more but I look for a sale when purchasing.

Good luck!

I have the TruCut I purchased thru Nancy's Notion. At 1st I didn't see much in the way it sharpened but found out I wasn't using it properly. It comes with a tube of oil which you need to add to the stones. Also I found I wasn't sharpening the blade long enough and I think that's where most of my problem layed. I tend to wait till I have a bunch of the blades needed to be sharpened before I bring the sharpener out and this last time I reread the instructions, oiled my stones and sharpened for the amount of time necessary. My blades are now sharper than I think they were when I pulled them out of the package. So for me the TruCut works by just reading the instructions correctly. I tend not to read them most of the time but this time it worked.
