Rotary blade sharpener
I've been feeling the need to purchase a sharpener for the umpteen rotary blades that I have dulled and saved. I looked on e-bay and found several different ones. Do any of you have a sharpener and how well do you like it? I'm interested in the best one for the cheapest price. Which one does the best job? I saw one that I guess runs on batteries and then there are the simple plain Jane ones that you just run your cutter back and forth in a little slot. Do these work as good as the load and grind ones? Also, which brand and where did you find it?

I use a small hand held one that turns on a disk. Works for me. I usually can sharpen 3 or 4 times before tossing.

I really really like the TruSharp by the Grace Company. I got mine from joann.com and used a coupon. I have not bought new blades since.

I have the trusharp and the hand held one by Dritz. Both work pretty good for me. Remember to use a little bit of sharpening oil, and for the hand held one, use the course side first and count the times you go around on one side and do the same amount on the other side. Then use the fine side to finish off the blades. Neither one will take out nicks and your blades will never be as sharp as new, but will last way longer. Don't wait til the blades are completely dull to resharpen, I take a few mins. between two or three cutting days (I cut something almost every day) and touch up the blades.

LOL, I have worn out two of the hand held ones. and really want the electric one that does many sizes of blades. for the money the hand held ones are great.

I have this and try as I might, I'm underwhelmed w it; it isn't consistent and sometimes the blades are worse after sharpening.

I have the blue one with the paper disk. It works to sharpen blades if the blade has no nicks in it. The blade is never as sharp as a new one. I use harbor freight blades that are so cheap that I do not mind throwing them away. Do a search on the board since there was recently another post about this topic.
