Does using a pinking shears rotary blade distort your measurements, is that really not true or not. I just bought a blade and have not used it yet. The sales clerk said she used one.
thanx dude

I like mine. I just have to be careful not to nick up my rulers with it.

I'll be very careful when using it

IMHO I would not use 'specialty blades' for my regular strip piece cutting. Cannot get right next to ruler and if you do you have a greater chance of nicking the rulers. When I purchased my 'specialty blades' it was explained to me that they were more for for decorative accents.

i bought one and rarely use it for the reasons previously stated

I have a pair if pinking shears. For the amount of time I use them, they work fine. I like to pink curved edges for turning and sometimes a fabric shape. I don't like to pink the edges of blocks to sew together because you can't match the edges well to get a good 1/4 in. seam. I think it wastes fabric too because I am not comfortable with the inward wedge being into the 1/4 in. seam so I would be cutting the seam allowance bigger.JMHO

I only use mine for pinking the edges of my fabric before washing. Also, I pink the edges of my enbroidery fabrics. Other than that, I stick with a conventional blade.

I think it would be much more difficult to get an accurate cut.
Most use these to prevent fraying, add a decorative touch or for curves.

The commercial precuts that have these are usually done by machine :D:D:D
