I purchased the Harbor Freight blades with great enthusiasm. After buying them, I put them in my little yellow Olfa blade holder. Just recently, I put a new blade in my cutter and couldn't figure out why it was cutting so bad, leaving 2/3 little nicks that weren't cut every time I cut a strip. Then I remembered, they were the HARBOR FREIGHT blades. I guess I got a bad batch, but no more for me!

Maybe you have 2 stuck together. I love mine and they are so much cheaper. Never have had a problem.

I am going to try this. I was going to do it right now but when I pulled out my "used" blades and ran them across my scrap fabric they cut fine. I am thinking I may be chaning them too soon. lol Anyway next time my blade doesn't cut right I am going to try it. Saves me a trip or a shipping cost.

Try eBay for rotary blades especially bulk buys. I bought bulk awhile back, 30 or so for a fraction of the price @ LQS or even WM. Search rotary 45 or 28 whatever size you need

I bought some from jhittle a few years ago . I think like 40 of them and still have some left. before that there was a guy on ebay that if you mailed yours back you could exchange and get new ones for a cut rate. I haven't even looked in a long time

Thanks soooo much. Going to try this today. I ran over a pin with my Rotary Blade so have a spot that refuses to cut. I'm hoping this will help.

I agree, for bulk purchasing of rotary blades, ebay is the way to go. I also bought the harbor freight. I only bought 2 packs because I didn't want a lot of them if they didn't work. My first blade was nicked so badly you could see it with the naked eye. the rest of them seem OK. Moral, use new if you have them, buy at the best price you can find, sharpen when you have one going bad or can't get out to buy new ones.

Thank you for reminding me of this tip. I used to shapen my sewing scissors this way all the time when money was tight. It's back to being tight again so this will prolong buying blades.

Yes I have tried this and wished I hadn't. You create slivers that you might not see....ask me how I know.....try embed in the finger and I was being very careful. Didn't see that it made much difference.

I have tried it with rotary blades, and it does work for a while. Faster than changing a blade. I haven't tried it with scissors - but I will. Just didn't occur to me before.

Harbor Freight just opened a store in my little town in CT, so I can buy their blades even easier than before. So now we have Costco and HF - and a BJ's is being built. Why? We're just over the border from NY, have lower sales tax, and just off I84. Easy on and off. Ofcourse, this means even more traffic in my little town. When we moved here 39 years ago (yikes), there were no traffic lights, and we still had several working farms. Now the farms are gone, and I gave up trying to count the traffic lights when I got to 10 ~
