What do you NOT use to cut with your rotary cutter? I mean besides paper. Batting? In other words, are there certain kinds of things that dull the blade really quick?

Other than paper, batting is just another fiber. Just keep to quilting fabric and fibers and the blade should be good.

I use mine on batting with no problems. I have used it on vinyl, thin leather for purse, I get my blades from Harbor Freight. They are so much cheaper there, If one get bad, It's not so bad throwing it away.

I use the old blades for paper. Batting and fabric need a sharp blade.

I've 2 rotary cutters, one for fabric and the other is for everything else. Batting and stabilizers dull the blades really quick.

At home I use it on all quilting fabric including batting - but at work there is a dedicated rotary cutter for batting. I never have a problem at home with it but clearly there must be some hype about the batting as it is commonplace for many to dedicated cutter for the batting. It may be that at home we do not cut sufficient quantities to affect the blade.

paper is NOT going to dull the blade..remember, these blades were actually invented for tougher things than fabric...WE just took them over!

I use it on cardboard, mat board, papers of all kinds, batting, fabrics of all kinds, and ultrasuede!

Have had the same blade in for a year now....

I do clean it after every major usage day and run it round the sander disc...it helps!

I have cut rugs, cardboard, foil, shelf paper, gift wrap paper and many other things with my rotary cutter. I don't have one designated for fabric, I just pick up the one closest to me when I need it.
