I just bought a 60mm Olfa deluxe rotary cutter. The red button is really annoying. I took it out of the package and didn't cut anything, but the red button stayed put after I squeezed the handle. I have to shove the red button? What am I doing wrong and how do I use this well?
Thanks Emily |
Sorry, never had a 60mm - no instructions?

Squeeze the handle to engage the blade....you can also lock the blade open for comfort or closed for safety.

It is a safety feature that seems annoying but is really very beneficial. I have laid mine down without closing it and ended up with a tiny nick in my finger.
Especially with pets or little ones around you need to get in the habit of closing it whenever you lay it down. Do I sound like a mom or what. OK, I am. Learn to close it!!! :) |
You push the red button in to use it, then push it back out when not using. It's a very good safety feature.

I didn't like the Olfa I picked up.
I use Fiskars and I think that they are dicontinueing the 65mm as I only see 60mm and 45mm blades now. And the new 60mm are the straight type, not the nice curved ones. Kirsten |
