rotary cutter

The blades on my rotary cutters do not turn. What is the problem? I have removed them and put them back on again but they still don't turn.

Have you tightened the screw too tight?

What brand do you have?

There is usually a diagram on-line of the replacement blade and how to stack it. Did you put the screw cap on backwards?

Same thing happened to me and maybe you need to loosen the screw a little. This helped me

All of the blades on all the cutters won't turn?

Could be the funny washer is turned backward. Depends on what brand and style of cutters you are using.

yep, that curved washer is bad sometimes. check that. i've had my rotary many years and still get it backwards at times, even though i lay it out as I remove things.

I accidentally loaded two blades on at the same time. They are so thin, and they stick together. Could that be your problem?

This happened to me recently, I swore I put them back together correct when I changed the blades. I finally googled how to change a blade in Olfa rotary cutters. I watched a video and I did have it all wrong, backwards and two blades were stuck together.

I have had 2 blades on before. It was chewing the fabric up.They are so hard to see they are so thin.

I just put in a new blade from a batch I bought a while ago. The oil on the blade had hardened on the blade and I was afraid it would not turn well. I managed to get it all rubbed off and then put a tiny drop of oil on both sides of the blade before I inserted it. Working fine.
