I have broken my old rotary cutter and need to purchase a new one. I am planning on purchasing and Olfa. Are the blades from Fiskars and Olfa (or from other brands) interchangable? I have 4 news blades from my Fiskars and I don't want to discard them, but I don't want to purchase NEW blades for my Olfa if the old ones will work. Any help on this would be sincerely appreicated.

If you have arthritis, get the ergonomic one by Olfa.

Even if you don't have arthritis, get one that has ergonomics in the mix.

I have a Fiskars ergonomic (circa 1990) ... and can cut a lot longer with it, than many of the other brands/styles that are not ergonomically friendly.

While it's old, I noticed last year that they were still selling the same one, so it must have been a good one! :)

As for blades, I've always used Olfa. Though in making a purchase, if I were you, I'd double check!

Olfa will work in Fiskars, so Fiskars should work in Olfa.

Love my Olfas! Had a Martelli and it was a piece of junk! I have the ergonomic in all sizes and love them.

I bought a Gingher rotary cutter.

I have a Martelli and use it all the time. I love it! Got mine at Overstock.com for less than $20 including shipping.

I have several brands, I find that I need one that self retracts, otherwise I am always cutting my self....have one from Fons and Porter, no really impressed with it....love my Olfa that self retracts, squeeze the handle and cut, let go of the handle and the blade is safe....have run the blade across my entire hand when I am not paying attention......my Clover does not self retract either.....

Yes, they are all interchangeable. The most durable blades available are manufactured by KAI and are made in Japan. They are made of Tungsten Steel and their rotary cutters are ergonomically designed with an automatic retractable blade guard.

Good call on purchasing an Olfa cutter. The Fiskar blades will fit an Olfa, so by all means, get the Olfa.
