I haven't been on here long enough but still will ask;
do you sharpen the rotor blades, like sissors or just replace them? hey I am frugal, and 3-5 dollars can add up! thanks for the reply Mary Grether |
I sharpen them but they don't work as well afterwards (Maybe I'm doing it wrong). I wind up replacing them with new blades
|
You can extend the life of your blade a bit by taking it off and flipping it over.
|
I have a little tool to sharpen mine: Tri-Sharp Dual Rotary Blade Sharpener. I will sharpen them 3 or 4 times before I replace them. I also happen to have a paper cutter that uses the same blade as my rotary cutter, so when I decide a blade is too dull for fabric, I put it aside for my rotary cutter.

At the top of my wish list is the truecut rotary sharpner by the grace company.
|
I replace them.
|
I replace after I flip them over :thumbup:
They say you can run them over aluminum foil to sharpen them, but I never had any luck with that :roll: I stock up when they are 50% off at Joanns or use a coupon :lol: Some get them cheap off ebay |
I replace mine. Usually I wait too long, then when I do replace I wonder why I waited so long. I buy mine on ebay. I've gotten some great deals that way, better than Joann's with a coupon.
