Ruler folding

Someone please explain or take pictures of how to ruler fold fabric. A couple of you said that was how you store your fabric on my post about comic boards. A few of us want to know how to do this. Thanks

Quiltville also has a really good system for folding ... http://quiltville.blogspot.ca/2012/1...h-folding.html

Basically you take your length of fabric and fold it in half again so it is about 11 inches wide. The 11 inch wide length could be turned around the comic book board to make a mini bolt OR you can turn it around your 6 X 24 inch wide ruler. Once the whole length is on the ruler, you gently slide the ruler out and place your ruler folded fabric on the shelf.

I was recently in a comic book store ......first experience...looking to sell old comics from DH...anyway, as I was there I asked to see these comic book cards everyone is using...he showed me, but then showed me what is called magazine size ....a bit bigger...I think I am going to go back and buy the mag size....only $1-$2 difference in price.....

I ruler fold mine but do it differently, I fold again lengthwise then use my 4x13" ruler, start at one end of the fabric then start folding, then I put it corresponding drawer, according to the background color.

I am a messie worker.. I get lots done ...I have tried several ways to make my space a little neater.. I have some fabrics ruler folded..some on mat board cut to size of my shelves..some in clear plastic bins ..now I am going back to hanging on hangers..I usually end up just cutting and sewing..saving scraps in color bins..I don't throw away even the smallest pieces but try to put the colors in clear egg cartons so they are ready to paint pictures with..I have to get some of them used up soon before I get buried by bits and pieces:) When it gets to bad I stop and try a new method :)
